Patternbank are excited to collaborate with trends consultant Geraldine Wharry. In this inspirational guest editor post, we look forward to Spring/Summer 2018.

– In an imaginary world inspired by Augmented Reality, designers and artists celebrate nature’s wonders in a sensual and exotically dark direction.

– Innovation comes through mixing natural elements such as palm trees, saturated brights and Ikat prints with glitch effect, pixilation, blurring and distorting.

– The influencers of this trend are iconic media artist Nam Jun Paik as well as Neon artist Kleber Matheus – the latter currently exhibiting at the Whitechapel Gallery in London.

Tropical-Glitch-designs

Geraldine has selected six print designs that work into the ‘Tropical Glitch’ Trend story. All the above designs are available on the Patternbank studio – designs include:- Sea Colour By Clo, Red Blue Happiness by Michele Tozzi, Electric Yellow Bloom by Beccy Bland, VHS Glitches Palmtrees by Ioannis Koseloglou, Network Explosion by Arvanilake Florentina, Abstract Decorative Pattern by Chenpei.
