Patternbank are big fans of Antonio Marras who always delivers when it comes to print, pattern and a love of fabrics, embroidery and embellishment. This Pre Fall 2013 collection didn’t fail to delight with beautifully executed floral prints mixed with geometric and paisley patterns. Exquisite jacquard coats and knitwear featured textured pattern and small tie motifs. It’s not surprising then that Marras was previously artistic director at Kenzo where mixing inspirations, costume, textiles and contemporary art goes hand in hand. Accomplished, Massachusetts based artist and horticulturalist Michelle Morin, paints her subjects with a naive simplicity which gives her work a wonderful patterned quality. With many years spent designing gardens, Michelle has developed an in-depth knowledge of her subject matter and is able to convey the complexities of the flora and fauna with her application of watercolour and gouache. In this post we give a quick snapshot of our favorite finds whilst walking the show. Check the website for dates and info on other global cities that the fair is visiting.
