The Patternbank Team have analysed all the key print trends at London Fashion Week and today we bring you Part 1 of the highlights from the first of the shows. Here we saw an abundance of glamorous chintzy florals with a tinge of gothic romanticism. There were a riot of clashing prints too, where dressing up to excess seems to be this seasons hot trend. Watch out for Part 2 of London’s best to follow.

The Patternbank team have poured over Spring/Summer 2016’s runway shows at London Fashion Week, to bring you Part 2 of London’s key print trends. Preen’s catwalk collection for S/S16 focused heavily on the dramatic combination  of pretty florals overprinted with structured geometrics, whereas Katrantzou’s runway show was a rich and eclectic mix of clashing floral prints and decorative embellishments. Other shows were just as print heavy with sharp, structured geos, teeming meadow florals, and giant photographic prints all fighting for attention in this season’s London shows. Stay with us for Milan S/S16 coming soon!

01-Mary-Katranzou-Christmas-Jumper

To celebrate Christmas Jumper Day 14 British designers including Alexander McQueen, Burberry and Mary Katrantzou have customised identical jumpers in their own unique style to raise money for Save The Children. The charity’s annual Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 13th December invites all to wear a Christmas Jumper and donate £1 or more to Save The Children. This year they have partnered with Westfield and the British Fashion Council with unique Christmas Jumpers hand-knitted by fashion brand Wool and the Gang before being customised by the designers. The collection is on show at Westfield London until December 30th, with an installation designed by Stuart Semple. The unique auction comes with a twist as the lowest bid wins, so why not try your luck and go to savethechildren.org.uk and bid on one of these fabulous jumpers.

One of London Fashion Week’s brightest talents, designer Mary Katrantzou has created a nine-piece collection for Topshop.

The standout piece from the collection is the ‘Pheasant Dream’ dress. Reminiscent of a porcelain vase, with a fuchsia bouquet formed around a high neckline and a floral china Ming vase skirt, the item is made from satin and retails at £350. The range went on sale in selected Topshop stores on February 17.
