Dries Van Noten’s Fall 2017 Collection at Paris Fashion Week was a dazzling retrospective of some of his favourite prints from Chintz to Japanese Kimonos and mezmerizing geometrics, all re-worked into a collection of fabulous dresses. This was Dries 100th show and featured models that walked the catwalk for him back in 1993, a strong and lasting image of powerful women in powerful prints.

Check out Stella Jean’s eclectic new collection from Milan’s Fashion Week, RTW Fall 17 show. The collection focuses on influences from the cold war and highlights todays ongoing political tensions. Josh Blackwell transforms the humble carrier bag into these elaborate and colourful pieces of artwork, where he considers their previous life and easy throw away nature. Instead their degraded status is brought to life with beautiful, colourful stitching in geometric patterns where references to a past life can be made. 02-kit-miles

Patternbank are a big fan of the beautiful draughtsmanship found in Kit Miles‘s work. Miles has recently been awarded the 2016 prize for best new designer at this years Homes and Gardens designer awards. Not surprisingly Miles is an advocate of the skills for drawing, enabling wonderful and often surrealist imagery to be incorporated into their designs. Miles formed his studio after completing his MA at the Royal College of Art and has since worked on projects for Duplex’s Colour Futures exhibition at Somerset House for the London Design Festival and a new line of fabrics for Liberty of London.
