Exquisite hand embroidered textiles with threads intact, reminiscent of samplers from historical collections, were the offerings from Sarah Burton and her team for the Alexander McQueen fall 2017 collection at Paris Fashion Week. They found their inspirations in Cornwall, collections of flora and fauna, sun and star symbols and ribbons and threads, a truly beautiful offering.

Dries Van Noten’s Fall 2017 Collection at Paris Fashion Week was a dazzling retrospective of some of his favourite prints from Chintz to Japanese Kimonos and mezmerizing geometrics, all re-worked into a collection of fabulous dresses. This was Dries 100th show and featured models that walked the catwalk for him back in 1993, a strong and lasting image of powerful women in powerful prints.

Milan’s Fashion Week, RTW Fall 17 show was a riot of colour, texture and pattern when Dolce & Gabbana’s latest collection hit the runway. The collection was all about real people, with 140 individuals from all ethnicities, walks of life and ages, kitted out in individually tailored looks, with Dolce & Gabbana’s signature overload of florals, animals and opulence.

Check out Stella Jean’s eclectic new collection from Milan’s Fashion Week, RTW Fall 17 show. The collection focuses on influences from the cold war and highlights todays ongoing political tensions. Stella’s signature mashup, showcases a Bohemian mix of illustrative winter scenes, ethnic patterns and folk influences with a hint of U.S. military dress.

The Pre-Fall 2017 collections give us a sneak preview of what we can expect from the Autumn/Winter 2017 Catwalk shows. Slightly more commercially focused, but nevertheless important in their instant availability and timely showings.
