This incredible collaboration between Kenzo & H&M has been revealed with an amazing look book. The collection is a pattern explosion with multicolour animal prints, folk influences, bold patterns and much more. The final collection will be available in H&M stores at the start of November. The London-based, Finnish, artisanal design and lifestyle brand Klaus Haapaniemi was founded by Klaus Haapaniemi and Mia Wallenius 2010. Their design approach is influenced by nature, Finnish folklore and traditional decorative arts with a modern twist. The inspiration for their prints comes from a rich selection of cultural references: the worlds of art, ballet, music and storytelling. Klaus Haapaniemi produces a luxurious home collection focusing on hand printed textiles, cushions, woven throws and hand made rugs. We have introduced a larger selection of new products that you can visualise the patterns on. Our new templates include: a new dress, leggings, wallpaper, a trainer, kids t-shirt, backpack, book, iPhone cover & a men’s shirt. These new product templates enable you to see the design realistically on certain products helping you get a true feel for how the design will look. Our designers are able to choose 5 masks from a selection of 12 brand new ones so they are able to show off their design like never before.
SCALE AND ZOOM FEATURE
You can now position and scale the designs giving you the ability to view a design in large scale or small ditsy. We also have a unique zoom feature that enables buyers to see designs up close to view the detail of the design.
EDITABLE FILES & EXTRA DESIGN ASSETS
Our designers are now able to upload optional design files including colourways, Pantone colours, original drawing, photographs – anything goes. Again, giving you more value from your purchases.
We have added new license features so you to get more from the Patternbank design collection. Our ‘Stock Non-Exclusive License’ has been renamed ‘Standard Non-Exclusive License’, our ‘Premium Exclusive License’ remains unchanged. Newly uploaded Standard License designs can now be purchased with a layered PSD (for bitmap designs) or vector AI/EPS (for vector designs) via Extended License Options. Allowing buyers to use the design for commercial product for resale. Our basic Standard license allows noncommercial use of designs. Patternbank are the loving the simple but bold work of Tokyo based Australian artist Karan Singh. While he studied interaction design, the self-taught artist has focused on visual arts and illustration for the past nine years, drawing inspiration from graphic design sensibilities and op-art minimalism. His bold and vibrant work is a playful interpretation of minimalism particularly focusing on depth and dimension through pattern and repetition. His professional career has seen him based in a number of cities including New York, Malmö, Sydney, Melbourne and now Tokyo over a variety of disciplines ranging from art for IBM, animations for the band OK Go, textiles for Heineken and a typeface for The Designers Foundry. The Patternbank team once again had the privilege of experiencing this years emerging talent at the New Designers Graduate show. Taking place over two weeks at London’s Business Design Centre, with eight distinct design zones and two prestigious Awards Evenings, New Designers is the UK’s most important graduate design exhibition, full of innovation and fresh thinking. Part 1 of the graduate show focused on Textiles and surface pattern design courses and was the ultimate event to spot the next wave of creative talent to hit the industry. More →

Patternbank are loving the beautiful stylish illustrations of Ayumi Takahashi. Born in China, raised in Japan, Ayumi graduated from Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, United States and who also studied graphic design at Central Saint Martins. The Patternbank team were lucky enough to get our hands on tickets to Wednesday nights Gala Awards Show at this years London Graduate Fashion Week. This year celebrating an amazing 25th year of showcasing the exciting new fashion generation of designers. Christopher Bailey, Vivienne Westwood, Holly Fulton and Julien MacDonald were amongst the crowd celebrating the last days gala awards show.
