A hugely popular part of our site is the seasonal trend themes section – all our designers receive a monthly directional trend newsletter, they design into themes and then we collate them into seasonal trend stories. This saves our buyers valuable time when looking for those new prints. ‘Midnight Garden’ is one of our current favourites, go check it out here.

Patternbank is looking to build a team of global inspiration curators. If you have a creative eye, have a passion for trends and can write, you could be just what we are looking for.
We are looking for guest contributing editors to supply inspiring articles that will creatively fuel designers, brands and the design community. All that’s needed is a selection of sized images and a couple of lines of text explaining about the subject. All chosen and published articles will have guest editor info at the bottom of the page. If you become a regular contributor we will add you to our Contributing Editor page.
London Craft Week returned for its second year and Patternbank were on hand to take in some of the creative happenings. One pattern highlight was The Craft of Wallpaper exhibition at The Geoffrey Museum in Hoxton. We were also lucky enough to grab a seat at the panel discussion ‘Papered Walls; Process and the Power of Pattern’. Which was an insightful discussion about bespoke printing, wallpaper trends and where the studios find inspiration.
Patternbank caught up with Claire Foster, vintage collector and owner of Sourced Vintage Studio, to hear her thoughts on the catwalk’s influence, on current print and pattern trends.
What key vintage prints or historic eras are you feeling will be influences next season?
I’m really feeling the romanticism of the renaissance period being a big influencer on florals for the more feminine for womenswear that has been gaining pace – especially for dresses and occasion wear. Also I think that historic interior prints, opulent Baroque in particular, look interesting for winter – in heavier fabrics and particularly for outerwear. I also love the gothic black-out florals that have been evolving over the past couple of seasons and think they will be really important for A/W 16/17.
