Patternbank loves Bernard Frize’s exaggerated brushstroke paintings for colour depth and pattern structure inspiration. Frize who was born in Saint-Mandé, France in 1949, now lives and works in Paris and Berlin. Frize’s work is always abstract and is concerned not with personal expression but with the actual process of making the work. He is fond of saying ‘the brush paints’.
