Today Patternbank are featuring the work of print designer Ania Dergachev in our ongoing series highlighting our fantastic designers here on the Patternbank Textile Print Design Studio. Ania joined Patternbank as a designer last year, her designs range from beautifully drawn illustrative animal compositions to hand drawn florals and foliage. Her designs have been featured on clothing from brands such as The Kooples, H&M and Robert Graham.
We asked Ania about herself, “My initial training was in graphic design and illustration, with emphasis on book illustration. I have a bachelor degree from Vizo Academy in Haifa (Israel). My primary passions have always been: fashion and stories. As I gained experience in illustration and design I started realising that surface pattern design is a wonderful way to combine the two”. When asked about what inspires her work Ania replied, “My inspiration comes from everything unusual, things that are a bit different and even the weird and wonderful. For example Alexander McQueen’s fashion, Alexander Semenov’s underwater photography, Santiago Calatrava’s architecture, or even just a Passiflora flower”.
Check out more of Ania’s work here on her Patternbank Studio profile page.
We’ve added some beautifully hand drawn examples of the elements Ania combines to create her patterns. Her designs include all her elements on separate layers.
